BIRC Imaging Lab

Brain Imaging Rehabilitation and Cognition Lab

The Brain Imaging, Rehabilitation, and Cognition (BIRC) laboratory is dedicated to understanding brain functions in neurologically normal young and old persons and in persons with neurological injury and disease.

Members of the BIRC lab use the latest functional MRI techniques, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), other imaging techniques, and various cognitive paradigms to study the relationships among cognition, behavior, and brain function.

Specifically, BIRC scientists strive to understand the neural substrates of cognition and behavior and to apply this knowledge to rehabilitation of neurological disorders and aging.
